What is the European Union’s LIFE Programme?

Have you ever noticed that every time we do a volunteer activity or a meeting, a blue flag with the word ‘Life’ appears in the background? The LIFE Programme is the European Union’s funding instrument for the environment and climate action. It was created in 1992 and, ever since, dozens of projects are funded every year.

For the period 2004-2020, its the main objective is to contribute to sustainable development and to the achievement of the targets of Europe 2020 strategy as well as the Union’s environmental and climate strategies and plans.

In the 2017 LIFE call, the LIFE Salinas project was approved in the Nature priority area. Our project has a duration of 4 years (until 2022) and advances properly in the fulfillment of its objectives year by year.
