Environmental education activities for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS have begun last Thursday, the 9th of December. These activities consist in making talks and complemented workshops with guided tours of The Salinas y Arenales Regional Park, in San Pedro del Pinatar.
The education campaign for Secondary schools runs between September 2021 and June 2022, coinciding with the school period. It is organized by the Dirección General del Medio Natural. Consejería de Agua, Agricultura, Ganadería, Pesca y Medio Ambiente.
In the talks, the students will learn all the biodiversity of the Regional Park, the history of salt production, the incredible properties of salt, how climate change affects the protected area and what the actions of the LIFE Salinas Project are. Workshops have also been created with games and videos, all adapted to the age of the students. The duration of the talk and the workshop is approximately 2 hours.
In order to complete this experience, guided tours of the Regional Park are also offered. There are 2 types:
- Visit to the beaches of La Torre Derribada and La Llana,
- Visit to the salt ponds and the Pinar de Coterillo. The guided tours last approximately 3 hours.
The activities are totally free.
