This week the works of Action C2 began: Green infrastructure: connection of the Coterillo pond.
The Coterillo pond has an area of 8.3 hectares and an average depth of 20-30 centimeters, owned by the Comunidad Autónoma de la Región de Murcia. It was created with the aim of conserving an endemic species of the Mediterranean: the fartet (Aphanius iberus).
Since the pond does not have a good drainage system, it will be connected to the salt circuit, providing the pond with an inlet and outlet of water that will generate water circulation and renewal, avoiding eutrophication and maintaining appropriate salinity levels.
