The participants of the Volunteer Camp “Salinas y Mar Mediterráneo”, organised by ANSE, are already placed in San Pedro del Pinatar. The day before yesterday, Sunday 14th, they attended a talk at the Visitors Center so as to learn about the natural values of the Regional Park.

After a walk through the surroundings of the park, the volunteers visited the beach of Torre Derribada and, finally, they could learn about the process of salt extraction at the facilities of Salinera Española S.A., coordinator and partner of the Life-Salinas project.

The participants will be removing invasive exotic species until the 19th of July, the last day of the Volunteer Camp. They will also carry out actions to conserve dune ecosystems and to learn about the importance of maintaining the salt activity for the survival of both the animal and plant species living in this Regional Park.
