The LIFE-Salinas team presented an article entitled “Socioeconomic impact and effects on biodiversity of the Yellow-legged Gull population in a Natural Park of SE Spain” at the 12th Congress of the European Ornithological Union (EOU).
During the event, that took place in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca in the last week of August 2019, experts in waterbirds and coastal wetlands could exchange their experiences with other European ornithologists. The visit to the “Salinas de la Turda” was focused on the traditional methods of extraction of salt from the mine and its current uses, mainly the baths of thalassotherapy in the outdoors.
The EOU congresses take place every two years and are attended by researchers from all over Europe. In Cluj-Napoca met nearly 400 researchers related to the field of ornithology.
