Currently, we are in an exceptional situation. Spanish society faces the state of alarm with almost total confinement, following sanitary measures to deal with the Covid19 virus pandemic.
In the Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar, work continues on the production, packaging and distribution of salt, adopting and implementing all the safety guidelines for workers set by Sanidad. The maintenance of all the salt infrastructure also continues, such as water pumping, water regulation and salinity control in the different salt puddles, canal repair, etc.
Likewise, the LIFE-SALINAS Project continues in all those actions on which it is possible to continue advancing from the office and at home, which will be reported on the website and social networks.
In addition, we are still very aware of the evolution of the Llana beach, where it can be verified that the deposit of Posidonia oceanica gathered in front of the dunes, carried out between the months of January and February, is giving good results protecting the dunes. In this way, we have been able to verify that in the storm of last week, the waves have dragged some of the arribazones but have not reached the dunes.
