The workers of Salinera Española S.A. and the Asociación de Naturalistas del Sureste (ANSE) have completed the installation of the fence located in the first 750 meters of La Llana beach. The purpose of this fence, which covers more than 2 hectares, is to recover and protect the dunes between the beach and the salt ponds. These dunes are deeply eroded due, mainly, to the visitors and their pets, who create trails fragmenting the habitats and removing the native vegetation.

Throughout the Project and in order to speed up the environmental recovery, 16 thousand seedlings of psammophile plants are expected to be replanted, 1,200 of whom have already been planted. A psammophile is a plant that prefers or thrives in sandy substrates as is the case of the dunes.
