Last Thursday, February 14, Ainhoa Darquistade, Technical Monitor of NEEMO, came to supervise the development of LIFE-Salinas. NEEMO EEIG is responsible for the monitoring of LIFE projects and of NGOs that receive funding from the LIFE Programme. During her visit, a meeting was held with all the project partners in order to check the initial status of the actions and review other administrative and financial issues.
In addition, Ainhoa visited the The Regional Park of the Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar, including the facilities of Salinera Española S.A., guided by its director Julio F. Fernández. The state of the dunes of La Llana was also checked, paying a special attention to its deterioration due to the currently loss of vegetation and the increase of erosive processes from both, a wind and an anthropogenic origin.
LIFE-Salinas Project was born in September 2018 with the development of actions such as: drafting of documents and administrative work, biological and dune ecosystem monitoring, preparation of plants for repopulation, volunteer activities and a wide dissemination campaign.
